I love to challenge myself and constantly learn and try new disciplines. I have learned to work around injuries and share this knowledge with my clients. My goal is to educate my clients as much as possible and help them do things they never thought they could. My goal is to make Fitness work for you!
My passion started with my mom putting me through dance, Tae Kwon Do, swimming and the gym, 24 Hour Nautilus(where I stayed!). In college I rowed Novice Crew in Open and Lightweight boats. After I took my first Nutrition course at UCSB, I enrolled in the Personal Training and Group Exercise Instruction Minor and the deal was sealed! I interned at a High School teaching step aerobics, and at a Senior Living Facility with both equipment and aqua therapy/aerobics. My minor project was Senior Fitness. I worked in a Cardiac Stage 3 rehab program.
While attending SJSU for my MA, I started as a trainer at Bally Total Fitness, where I remained for 11 1/2 years. I served as Group Exercise instructor in many formats, Pilates Reformer, Personal Trainer and Small Group Training Manager as well as Assisting GX Manager.
I then moved on to 24 Hour Fitness where I have served as Fitness Manager (Milpitas Active & Sunnyvale Sport) as non management at Sunnyvale Super Sport while training clients as well. I was the Fitness Captain of 4 clubs in my district.
POST GRADUATE WORK
I continued on to San Jose State University where I got my MA in Kinesiology: Exercise Physiology while incorporating the Sports Nutrition minor and completing my Master's Project on Exercise and Pregnancy. I then went to Ohlone College and completed my Physical Therapy Aide Certificate (2007) and one year in the Athletic Training Program.
I have competed in numerous NPC Figure competitions (since 2003) and have been Nationally Qualified numerous times. I am a current INBA/PNBA Natural Figure Pro.
I am a Spartan SGX & SOS race coach(Since 2015). I have completed at least one Trifecta each year, with my biggest year in 2018 earning THREE and participating in the Iceland Ultra, doing Pit Crew duty for my SGX Coach Team and Volunteering in the Competitive Check in Hut. I have led two of the Spartan WOT'S (Work Out Tour) for 24 Hour Fitness. (Sunnyvale Super Sport & San Mateo Super Sport).
I started training and experimenting with Powerbuilding and Powerlifting and committed in 2019 by joining the USAPL and attending the first USAPL Master's Camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado and becoming a USAPL Club level Coach. I then became a CA State Referee in 2020.
Over the years, I have worked with many individuals and learned from them and their Physical Therapists. I have worked with clients with CREST Syndrome, Peripheral Neuropathy, Hypermobility, Ehler's Danlos (Type 3/Hypermobility) and Scoliosis to name a few. I will work with your PT or MD's recommendations to find what works best for you.
Fitness is my life. I love helping people find what works for them to help them achieve their goals.
